Cookie & Local Storage Policy
Our ethical approach to browser cookies and client-side storage technologies.
1. What Are Cookies & Local Storage?
Cookies and HTML5 Local Storage are compact text tokens stored on your device browser that enable websites to recognize returning users, preserve active login sessions, and save user interface preferences (such as audio volume or high-contrast settings).
2. Strict Ban on Minor Ad Tracking (DPDP Act, Sec. 9)
In strict compliance with Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Prathmic Pathshala does NOT deploy cross-site tracking cookies, commercial ad pixels, or behavioral advertising scripts on any student learning, reading, or quiz interface.
3. Categories of Storage We Use
A. Strictly Necessary & Security Tokens
These are technically mandatory to authenticate parent accounts (Supabase session tokens), prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks, and allow secure access to protected dashboard areas.
B. Learning Session & Preference Storage
Used in the browser's Local Storage to remember the last opened page of a digital storybook, speech synthesizer volume, and chosen reading speed so students don't have to reconfigure them each time.
C. Aggregated Anonymous Performance Metrics
Anonymized telemetry to detect page-load latencies, video playback stalls, or broken assets, allowing our engineers to optimize speed on low-bandwidth rural connections.
4. Managing & Clearing Browser Cookies
You can modify your browser settings to decline or clear cookies at any time through your browser options (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Please note that disabling strictly necessary authentication cookies will prevent you from logging into your registered account.
